Yesterday my roommate and I took a day trip up to Boston. Megabus offers really cheap tickets to a bunch of places like New York, Toronto, Boston, Washington DC, and a bunch more. We booked our tickets almost 2 month ago so they were $2 round trip each.

A few people recommended Sweet to me, a cupcake shop with a few locations around Boston. I went to the one in Harvard Square and later the one on Mass Ave (they were THAT good).

They have a ton of flavors and offer normal sized and mini cupcakes. $3.25 for a normal size and $1.95 for a mini. A little on the pricey side but these were actually worth the price (compared to SOME cupcake shops I’ve been to). It was also a beautiful shop, very clean, and the staff in both of the ones I went to were really nice. They also offer frosting shots, a small cup filled with delicious frosting.

I’ve found the cure for a bad day! Butterscotch. I can’t get enough. There is something about brown sugar that makes life that much better. Whether it is in cookies, frosting, or even just a straight spoonful, there is something amazing about the flavor that I can’t describe. I was digging around and found this recipe for butterscotch and made it five minutes after I found the page, no lie.

Okay, I know it’s not winter (at least not here in America) but I miss it! Anyone who knows me knows that I hate the hot weather, the bright sun, and the endless humidity. I’d do anything for a snowstorm right about now. In my reminiscing of the cold nights I decided to make these Brown Sugar Cupcakes and eat them in my room with the air conditioner blasting. I even put them in snowman cupcake liners!
