This is just a short post about For The Love Of Cake in Toronto


I came here a few months ago when I was last in Toronto and I had a cookie and cream cupcake, I loved it. They specialize in “four dimensional” cupcakes: cake, frosting, filling, and garnish. They also feature a line of “mancakes” which either feature alcohol or bacon (I can’t eat those since I don’t consume alcohol or eat meat) but I’ve heard good things about them.

I’m first going to talk about the cupcake I had a few months ago. It was delicious. Moist chocolate cake with delicious vanilla frosting and a mini oreo on top. The filling was smooth, delicious chocolate ganache. Overall I was so satisfied and excited to come back!

Flash forward to now. I got a “Very Vanilla” (vanilla cake, frosting, custard filling, with a berry for garnish) and it was pretty good. The best part about it was the cake itself. I’m not a big fan of custard but I actually enjoyed it as a filling for this cupcake.

I also had a Black & White, which is a mix of chocolate and vanilla cake, frosting, chocolate ganache filling, and chocolate shavings for garnish. Again, the cake was the best part. The filling was great and the frosting was smooth and had a nice flavor to it.

I definitely recommend For The Love Of Cake if you’re ever in Toronto.

   i absolutely love this place…i think it’s the best cupcake place in the city

   my fave flavor is the grasshopper and the chocolate hazelnut

   they also now have cake balls which i go crazy over..love it!
