Butterscotch Chip Cookie Cake

I’ve never once tried to conceal my love of butterscotch.
Butterscotch cream pudding to this butterscotch chip cookie cake and everywhere in between, I love butterscotch.
I also love cookie cake, so I made this in the shape of a heart.
The cookie dough comes together quickly and it only takes about 10 minutes to bake, it’s a great last minute thing or a quick treat to whip up, if you don’t have the pan (which you can buy here, on amazon) then you could just drop these on a pan and bake them as cookies.

Sugar Philly, The Dessert Food Truck (Philadelphia)

Food trucks have been around for a bit now, but recently Philadelphia has been treated to some food trucks specializing in sweets. There are two trucks devoted solely to cupcakes (who I’ll be talking about later this week), but this truck, Sugar Philly, is devoted to all kinds of desserts.
The menu ranges from french macarons to custards to cakes. They offer traditional flavors as well as seasonal flavors, currently pumpkin is seen in a lot of items, like the pumpkin custard and pumpkin chocolate caramel macarons.
The truck has been parking in university city, on 38th and Sansom, but today they made a stop in Love Park, just a few blocks from where I go to school, so I had no excuse not to go over and grab some macarons.

Moist Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting

I’ve expressed my dislike for peanut butter a number of times on this blog.
I’m willing to put that aside for today. This is the best cake I’ve ever made. I don’t care if you think I’m being narcissistic, make this cake and you’ll understand why this is the best cake ever.
It is an insanely moist, light chocolate cake with rich, creamy peanut butter frosting on top with a coating of peanut butter infused chocolate ganache. It is rich and you will need a glass of milk with it.

My Experience At The Martha Stewart Show

That’s me, the tall, awkward guy in the background, looking just a bit pale with a weird smile.
I mostly took pictures with my phone and tweeted them, none of them are particularly special or great quality so this is going to be very text heavy.
It was an amazing experience. Like I mentioned, I was invited to the Martha Stewart show on November 1st to tweet from the audience about all the cookies and things that would be featured. If you check out my twitter, you’ll see all the updates, but I’ll give you the scoop here too.

Ryan’s Baking Blog Cupcakes

I made these chocolate cupcakes for my class for a visual communications project and thought I’d share them with you.
It’s just my basic chocolate cupcake with chocolate buttercream recipe with white chocolate for the lettering. I tried to draw the pug-in-a-cupcake logo on top but it didn’t work out too well.
By the way, Martha Stewart was great on Monday. We got a backstage tour and got to eat some delicious cookies (sugar cookies with some lemon zest, yes please). You can read about it on my twitter, the posts with the hashtag #marthatweets.
